The VILLAGE FEST is held every Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  along Palm Canyon Drive between Baristo and Amado in the City of Palm Springs. Here, you will find various street vendors displaying  works of art, clothing, flowers, and other consumables.  There’s food and live entertainment.

JOSHUA TREE is in the city of Twentynine Palms.  It is  approximately 70 miles from the properties at Vista MirageThe drive will take you a little over an hour but is worth the drive.   There is an entrance fee per vehicle of approximately $15 but is valid for the next 7 days.  Get ready to see miles after miles of desertscapes.  There are many photo opportunities along the drive. The view is surreal from the desert plants to wildlife to rock formations.  It is advisable to have a full tank of petro as you will be driving many miles inside the park.

In the higher elevations one will find a pristine wilderness within the San Jacinto State Park.  Getting their is via the PALM SPRINGS AERIAL TRAM, a cable car which rotates 3600, while it takes guests 2 1/2 miles up. Here, the temperature drops dramatically.  In the summer the valley is typically 1000F but up at these elevations, temperatures are in the cool 70‘s...great for hiking, guided nature walks  and camping in the 4 designated camp sites. In the winter time, there is snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and even “snow camping” (camping in the snow). Entrance to the Aerial Tram is located in North Palm Spings.

The desert may look dry and inhospitable but there’s more to the dry desertscape than on might think.  At THE LIVING DESERT in Palm Desert, one will find that the desert is teeming with life.  This what one might think is a wasteland is actually home to a multi-tude of animals and plants. There are a variety of animal and plant exhibits showcasing the unique species of plant and animals found in different world desert environments.
